About Us

We are an evangelical church

A group of Christians who believe in Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, and who are committed to following in His footsteps and living out His teachings.

Our community’s mission is threefold: to glorify God, to love one another, and to share Christ’s life-giving Gospel with people in our local communities and elsewhere.

Who are Evangelicals?

We are a dynamic and culturally diverse group of over 700 million believers, found in many different churches and denominations across the globe.

Five defining points of our faith

1. IT’S BIBLE-BASED

Our beliefs are based on the ultimate authority of God’s Word. We take it seriously and are committed to living by its principles.

3. IT EMPHASISES THE NEW BIRTH

We believe that all of us are sinners in need of salvation. This is why we must be ‘born again’ in Christ and learn to walk with Him in obedience.

3. IT FOCUSES ON THE GREAT COMMISSION

The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek “evangelikós” which means the gospel or good news. Sharing the good news of Jesus is our highest calling. There is no better news and no higher calling than this!

4. IT’S RELATION-BASED

We hold that a personal relationship with Christ is essential for growing in our faith and in service to Him.

5. IT CENTERS AROUND THE LOCAL CHURCH

Belonging to a local church is important because it helps us be grounded in our faith, live the gospel, serve others, and grow spiritually in a community of other believers who share our love for Christ.

Our History

Sharon Church and its associated non-profit organisation were founded in 1984. Our community has experienced many changes and challenging periods over the years, but God has sustained and protected us, keeping us united in faith and motivated to share the Gospel in Lanciano and beyond. We are grateful for this, and we trust that the Lord will continue to watch over our community as we serve Him in the years ahead.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

John 13:34-35
